With a national album tour penned for August & September, Splendour just around the corner & a set of dates with Gomez, it’s all go for Adelaide’s Leader Cheetah. And today, their huge new album, recorded in the summer of 2010 with Scott Horscroft, is released in Aus/NZ. Titled Lotus Skies after the almost-mariachi rock freak out that is track 8, this album takes the earthy Americana of their 2009 Sunspot Letters debut and grows and grows, with driving, slightly darker guitars (Golden Age, So Save Me), classic alt-country cuts (Crawling Up A Landslide), our favourite LC song ever (Our Love) and the big, brash firecracker of a finale, None Shall Pass. With original artwork from Tony Cran it is all Australian, but a total world-class collection of songs. Stream the album, out now, via Pedestrian TV.
