Biography

At the age of twelve, Adam Green began writing and recording songs on his 4 track. It was his songs on the self-titled album “The Moldy Peaches” in 2000 with writing partner and one time babysitter Kimya Dawson that critics said, “This album is awesome”. After seven years with the Peaches, Adam released his first solo album, “Garfield” on Rough Trade/Sanctuary.

Born and raised mostly in New York City, Adam spent time on the West Coast as a teen. In support of GARFIELD, he’s toured the world with The Strokes, Badly Drawn Boy, and Ben Kweller. He currently resides in Brooklyn.

His ‘Garfield’ album, was praised by critics as “fanciful” and “introspective”. Gear mused that the recording’s “unmistakably modern DIY acoustics pack a surprising amount of punch”. Time Out New York exclaimed that Adam “is definitely someone to watch out for”.

A video for his new single, “Dance with Me” was just released to TV and it is on this song that The Associated Press writes, “Green shows how he could easily grab the torch from Jonathan Richman to serenade the next generation”.

The new album ‘Friends Of Mine’ signals a sharp leap forward for Adam into a lush strings filled production environment, which suits him just fine. With each song clocking in at under three minutes , often two minutes , and choc full of melodic, succinct and truly memorable songs, this is an astounding album.
