WHITE FENCE – RRR album of the week! July 18th 2014 By Aaron

WHITE FENCE – RRR album of the week!

To the Recently Found Innocent is the fifth White Fence album, as well as the first White Fence album to be recorded outside the bedroom fence (with live drumming), and is recorded by Ty Segall. White Fence conjure a fantasy about reality, of the world as it is and should always be; their songs are alterna-hits played out in green sun, in blue air, on repeat, relentless, righteous in the privacy of front-parlor and yes, bedroom!
The album is Triple R album of the week this week, which is blimey good news!

Aldous Harding – Mess & Noise review June 23rd 2014 By Aaron

Aldous Harding – Mess & Noise review

‘The opening track on Aldous Harding’s debut LP is called ‘Stop Your Tears’. It could just as easily be called ‘Stop Whatever It is That You’re Doing’. Once Harding’s voice arrives, 30 seconds in, it’s hard to remain in the digital age’s constant state of semi-distraction. The best adjective for her singing would be ‘arresting’; her songbird’s warble – etched with the turn of the season, throaty with pain, yet ruffled with a twirl of theatricality – the kind that stops hearts, stops men in their tracks, stops chatty crowds silent’. ERNEST ELLIS + SHINING BIRD Co-headline tour starts this week!

After releasing two of the best local albums in the past year, Sydney’s Ernest Ellis and Austinmer’s Shining Bird will be heading out on a short co-headline tour in May/June 2014. These shows look set to bring a perfect measure of sleaze and bliss to stages along the east coast, in order to celebrate the respective albums—COLD DESIRE and LEISURE COAST—in style.

Ernest Ellis and Shining Bird will host an extra special show in Sydney, combining live performance with an art exhibition.

Following a call out to visual artists for works tied (in any way) to the titles of the two albums—COLD DESIRE and LEISURE COAST, the unique show will take place at St Stephen’s Church Hall, Newtown. Once the artworks are gathered, Ernest Ellis and Shining will host a night on May 17 where the works will be exhibited and the bands will play a set each.

COLD DESIRE and LEISURE COAST are available now through all good music retailers.

LIVE DATESFriday 09 May – Workers Club, Melbourne
Thursday 15 May – Rad Bar, Wollongong**
Saturday 17 May – St Stephen’s Church Hall, Newtown, Sydney
