Bill Callahan May tour March 23rd 2015 By Aaron

Bill Callahan May tour

On his last visit to Australia Bill Callahan performed at a ski resort atop a mountain in Victoria. He also appeared at Sydney Festival.  This time however, Bill C. has swapped the great Australian outdoors for the great Australian indoors and will perform three exclusive east coast shows: Tuesday 26th May at Melbourne’s Hamer Halland Thursday 28th and Friday 29th May for Vivid Live at the Sydney Opera House. Four dudes, one harmonica, two electric guitars, one glitter-painted bass, barely half a drum kit and six lights is all it took to conquer the behemoth of a room transforming it into a gig with the cosiness of a chamber music recital. Review – Royal Festival Hall, London 2014. In the years between Australian visits Callahan has released two albums proper, including the acclaimed Dream River featuring the Australian alternative radio hits Javelin Unlanding and Small Plane. Elsewhere Dream River kicked goals too landing at no.44 on the UK mainstream charts and picking up a five star review and the album of the year gong by influential English mag Mojo.

TY SEGALL ON TOUR NOW – $INGLES OUT NOW December 6th 2014 By Aaron

TY SEGALL ON TOUR NOW – $INGLES OUT NOW

You thought Manipulator was the money album of the year? Think . . . AGAIN! 2014 ain’t done yet, and $ingle$ 2 is here. And this time, it’s for the money. Two times! As all of the ears that have heard what Ty’s been putting out for the past five-ish years already know in their tiny l’il ear-brains, our kid’s got any number of places that he’s coming from, and putting them all into his rock and roll music is what he’s all about! Which is cool. $ingle$ 2 sweeps out the ashes of the breakneck days (and nights!!!!) of 2011–2013, and burns down the house all over again in the process — but not by accident. Sorry… $ingle$ 2 slinks low and flat-out sprints behind the scenes of the Goodbye Bread Twins Sleeper trilogy (no it isn’t!), collecting all the now-out-of-print sides that totally work amazingly well together when placed back-to-back-to-back as an album. The super-deadly ‘Spiders’ single is spun again here in full, along with the epically pop b-sides for ‘I Can’t Feel It’, ‘The Hill’, and ‘Would You Be My Love’. Plus there are tracks for other righteous labels too (yes, Virginia . . . ) like Permanent, Castleface and Famous Class. Here’s the tour dates if you have missed them.
ON TOUR NOW TOUR DATES + Meredith Music Festival 2014 Thursday 11 December 2014 – The Bakery, Perth Sunday 14 December 2014 – Corner Hotel, Melbourne – SOLD OUT Monday 15 December 2014 – Corner Hotel, Melbourne Wednesday 17 December 2014 – Oxford Art Factory, Sydney – SOLD OUT Thursday 18 December 2014 – Oxford Art Factory, Sydney Friday 19 December 2014 – The Zoo, Brisbane Saturday 20 December 2014 – The Northern, Byron Bay
