Spunk is 20 years old in 2019!

Spunk is 20 years old today! On 19 January 1999 we released the album I see a darkness by Bonnie prince billy (URA001). Will Oldham was someone I greatly admired and had toured a number of times so to start the label with this record is beyond special. I remember Will telling me one time that recording I see a darkness with Johnny cash was one of the greatest moments of his life. Anyway. Thanks to all the artists we’ve worked with (pic 3) and the wonderful staff. You’ve made the last 20 years a wonderful ride!!! The record industry has some crazy up and downs but it has allowed me to meet thousands of wonderful people, travel the world and meet all my heroes along the way! We are going to celebrate 20 years with releasing some vinyl that has never seen the light of day, with some merch from our favourite artists and maybe some shows too. special note to the departed. Kieran Dyson started this ride with me in 1994 when we started the fanzine together. Zac Denton and Fergus miller, thanks for being such a huge part of the label! Caroline, emi + inertia for distributing the label! Finally my family for being there for me and for the absolute love they have shown me!!! Xoxo
